Synopsis

Cybersecurity begins with the right skills. While we often talk about skill shortages, the real question is: why do the demand and supply for these critical skills sometimes feel like apples and oranges? What skills are essential for building the strong, resilient Shields outlined in the Cyber Security Strategy and how are these skills developed taking into account the current geopolitical instability?

In this session, we’ll explore how a blend of education, human factors, collaboration, crisis management, lessons from other countries, and strategic investment all play a role in cultivating the skills necessary to strengthen Australia’s cybersecurity. Together, we’ll look at how Australia can not only tackle today’s challenges but also position itself as a global leader in cybersecurity—truly becoming a Cyber Superpower.
